Sugar House Drinking Team: Heaven Hill Parker's Heritage Limited Release
Join us Saturday, May 28rd for the next installment in our series of exclusive Sugar House Drinking Team Whiskey Tastings! The goal of this event is to taste four whiskies in a controlled fashion, and have a spirited discussion about them.
Did you know Heaven Hill is the largest privately family owned distillery? They have over 1,000,000 barrels of bourbon aging on their Bardstown, KY facilitiy. For the last 50 years Parker Beam has been the master distiller at Heaven Hill. This month, we compare and contrast 4 whiskies aged for 20+ years and talk about the changing ownership of different historically important distilleries:
Name Age Proof Mashbill
- Parker's Heritage 2012 - Blend of Mashbills 11 Year Wheated/Rye Bourbon Cask Strength
- Parker's Heritage 2013 - Promise of Hope 10 Year Bourbon
- Parker's Heritage 2014 - 13 Year Wheat Whiskey Cask Strength
- Parker's Heritage 2015 - 8 Year American Malt Whiskey Cask Strength
We will start with a welcome pour of Elijah Craig, and move into a discussion about the Heaven Hill Distillery pre/post fire, and the legacy of Parker Beam, followed by an examination of the whiskey flavor wheel and general whiskey tasting notes. We will then taste and discuss all four of these whiskies and they each will be revealed, with the intention of furthering your knowledge and understanding of these great whiskies.
