Join us on Monday night for drink specials featuring George Dickel rye and George Dickel Tennessee whiskey. Diageo was kind enough to assist us in our effort to raise money for the Flint Water Fund so please come out and make your drinks count!
Wine to Water, 501(c)(3)non-profit organization, started by a bartender from North Carolina. In 2014, an international global movement spawned on the week of World Water Day to unite bartenders, servers, and the service industry to donate tips from 'Just One Shift' in the fight for clean water.
Wine to Water and The Sugar House will unite on Monday, April 4th as a portion of proceeds of sales from that evening will directly benefit the Flint Water Crisis. Proceeds from that night will be donated directly to The United Way of Genesee County. 100% of funds donated towards the Flint Water Fund source: filters, filter replacements, bottled water, and a daily driver.
Any remaining funds will be directed to the Flint Child Health and Development Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint.
Two years ago, the city of Flint switched its drinking water source to the Flint River. But the water wasn't properly treated, damaging city pipes, which have been leaching lead into the drinking water and causing an array of health issues.
As of March 26th, 2016, residents are still using filters and bottled water until they are assured that they can safely drink unfiltered water from their faucets.
A special thank you to our Sponsor: George Dickel Tennessee Whiskey.
